Gullions from Virginia

There is another Gullion family who lived in Virginia during the 1700s. The patriarch of this family John Gullion (sometimes referred to as “Hugh”) who was born about 1727 in Botetourt County, Virginia and died 10 Oct 1774 in Point Pleasant, Virginia during an attack by Native Americans.

According to other researchers, John had the following children born in or near Wythe County, Virginia:

  • Duncan Gullion born1757-1760 and married to Margaret Wyrick November 17, in Jonestown, Pennsylvania;
  • John Gullion born about 1753;
  • Barnabas Gullion born about 1755;
  • Nancy Agnes Gullion born about 1759 and married to John Messersmith, on June 10, 1796 in Wyeth County, Virginia;
  • Esther Gullion born about 1761 and married to Patrick Johnson;
  • Mary Gullion born 1766-1768 and married to David Miller Pierce July 6, 1815.

Could these Gullions be related to Patrick? In 1663 the Passenger and Immigration Lists Index shows John Guilliam (no age given) came to Virginia. John may have been the father of Patrick or his grandfather. Could John be the patriarch of both families?
